BOROUGH OF HARRINGTON PARK RECREATION COMMISSION

MEETING MOVED TO ELECTRONIC PLATFORM

            Pursuant to Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders #107 and 108 ordering Statewide lockdowns, and P.L. 2020, c. 34 permitting public bodies to conduct meetings via electronic means during declared states of emergency, the meeting of the Borough of Harrington Park Environmental Commission scheduled for December 9 at 8:00 p.m. will be conducted remotely from the electronic meeting platform Zoom.us. Members of the public can join the meeting and participate during public comment period by joining the meeting using the Zoom mobile application on a smartphone or tablet, joining the meeting by laptop with microphone capabilities, or dialing in using a telephone to the Zoom teleconference system. Information on how to join the meeting electronically appears below.

Members of the public may submit written comments in advance of a meeting, which will be read during the relevant public portion of the meeting. Written comments shall contain the person’s name and address and may be submitted via email to the Borough Clerk (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or by mail addressed to: Clerk, Borough Hall, 85 Harriot Ave., Harrington Park, NJ . Emailed comments must be received at least 48 hours prior to the meeting. Mailed comments must be received by 4:00 p.m. the day before the meeting.

If any meeting includes a public hearing, all material that will be considered by the Borough Council at the public hearing shall be posted on or linked to the homepage of the Borough’s website in a conspicuous location or as otherwise required by law. Written comments, as set forth above, will be accepted for such public hearings. If sworn testimony is to be taken during the public hearing, it shall be broadcast by both video and audio. Written public comments will not be considered where sworn testimony is required.

Please be advised that the following applications will be heard at the Harrington Park Board of Adjustment meeting at 7:00pm on November 18, 2020, at the Borough Hall, 85 Harriot Avenue, Harrington Park, NJ via remote meeting:

Christopher Lenat, 79 Herring Street ( Block 712, Lot 25), Harrington Park, New Jersey, seeks variances for an addition.  The property is in the R-1 District.  As per H.P. Code 350-9 E.(2) a side yard setback of 15 feet is required.  The proposed side yard setback is 11.33 feet.  As per H.P. Code 350-9 E.(1)Front yard setback depth of 35 feet is required except that where adjoining houses have front yards of lesser depth, this requirement may be reduced, but no case to less than 25 feet.  The proposed front yard setback varies between 11.92 to 13 feet. As per Harrington Park Code 350-9 D. “Percentage of Lot Coverage” (Max Building Coverage) shall not cover more than 25% of property.  The proposed addition would increase building coverage to 26.77%.

Caroline and Leonardo Fiaschi, 54 Dean Street (Block 717, Lot 13), Harrington Park, New Jersey seek variances for an addition.  The property is in the R-1 Residential District.  As per Harrington Park Code-9 E(2) a 15 foot side yard setback is required.  The proposed addition would violate the right side setback by approximately 2.20feet.  The projection of the proposed fireplace is in violation with H.P. Code 350-39 C. “Projecting Architectural Features” the fireplace projection does not meet this definition and is extending into the right side yard setback of 12.75.

Yvonne Humphreys, 270 Glen Avenue, Harrington Park, New Jersey, seeks a variance for 31 Deal Street (Block 802, Lot 13), Harrington Park, New Jersey, in the R-2 Residential District for a rear yard setback of 23.24 feet for an addition.  As per Harrington Park Code 350-10 E(3) a 30 foot rear yard setback is required.

The applicants may also request any additional approvals, variances, waivers, exceptions or any other relief, which may be deemed necessary upon review of the application by the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
